Please enjoy this recording of North Star from the July 4, 2017 Beanpot Invitational in Lynn MA.
It is truly and honor and privilege to be part of the North Star family. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to do this together with all of you. I am having much fun. Drum Corps has been and is one of the most influential activities in my life. It has given me the things that I am most thankful for.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Jim and Linda O’Brien for taking on this challenge of forming North Star again. Jim is constantly reminding us that this experience and what we are doing has exceeded his expectations. Well, welcome onto the train as we pick up steam and have even more fun enjoying each day together. Also, thanks to all of the folks entwined in the running of the organization from the staff on the creative side to the board and volunteers to the other family members and friends who support us in so many ways when we practice or attend a rehearsal or a performance. I can’t name them all but you know who you are. Also would be remiss if I did not mention Kenny Kehoe who arguably is the most dedicated member of North Star (There are so many!). And to my fellow marching members, Ole’.
Enjoy this recording of the performance. We are lucky to have a designated recorder in the stands in Cheryl Roberts. She has delivered on many occasions, including this one. Outstanding. I have to say the quality of this one is awesome and beats any cell phone video recording any day of the week!
Now onto the music HOLY COW! I suggest you listen to this at the loudest volume you can without popping your speakers. In the car is great if you have a good car stereo system. Who cares about the car next to you. Don’t worry when you pull into the Dunkin Donuts with the intro to Children of Sanchez blasting at peak volume. They probably don’t understand, and if they do, buy them a coffee and a donut because they are family.
One amazing performance folks.
